My experiences in "The Eupopean Time in the Capsule" (Romania April 2010) by Mell

I’m in Bulgaria now, but I secretly hope that I will wake up and find myself in bed at Anna’s home, in the wonderful country- Romania.

While I was in the Romanian town of Fetesti, I realized how far and close my country Bulgaria and Romania are. Romania is the country where I left my heart.

The arrival day was very exhausting for me, because we had to be in the central station of Bucharest, then we had to travel by bus, visit malls and parks all day long. But it was really fun, because I liked the strangers, now my friends, Tsutsi, Nick and Teo from the very beginning.

When we arrived in Fetesti, we were very enthusiastic to meet our host families who we had seen only on pictures. At the beginning, my host-girl Anna talked more with the Portuguese girl- Barbara, because I was very tired and I didn`t understand what they talked about, but after that I was the most talkative person in Popa’s family home.

On the next two days all students worked together on the “European time in a capsule” themes. We had to introduce some remarkable representatives of six fields of study- literature, sport, art, nature, history and science. It was really interesting for me to show our best writer - Ivan Vazov and our most famous sportswoman Maria Gigova.

On the third day, the parting with most of our Romanian friends was very difficult and sad, because few of them came with us to the other places and towns that we visited. After long and exhausting trip we went to the hotel. We were very tired, but had diner, and after that we gathered in one of the rooms where we had a party. We had a real fun!

On the other day, we went to the Danube’s delta. In our small boat there were three students from Bulgaria- Nick, Nickolleta and me, along with our teacher - Mrs. Dimitrova and a Romanian boy- Mihai. It was great! During the six hours, we spent in the boat; we played some games, talked and laughed. At the end, I didn’t want to get off from the boat.

The last day was the saddest day and we all asked ourselves: “Why do they do it like that? Just when we start to know each other, they separate us…” With tears, hugs for goodbye we parted our good friends, who we made for only a week. Now I’m far away from all Romanian, Polish, Greek, Italian and Portuguese students but I will miss them and they will stay in my heart forever…
